THE OFFER EQUATION

01OBSERVE

The opportunity was to create promotions capable of attracting demand and revenue, but an appealing offer also affected supplier cost, duration, booking channels, system setup, staffing, capacity, customer expectations and opportunities for additional spend.

02UNDERSTAND

High demand did not automatically mean commercial success. An offer could generate volume while weakening contribution, creating service pressure or producing operating conditions that damaged the experience. The project therefore had to evaluate market response, unit economics and delivery feasibility together, with post-launch evidence treated as part of the commercial decision rather than as an afterthought.

03IMPROVE

Offers were evaluated through comparative costing, pricing scenarios, market analysis, customer proposition, booking-flow review, capacity assessment and operational feasibility. Commercial decisions were connected to system setup, channel presentation, staffing, product cost and practical delivery.

04ADVANCE

Selected offers were launched and monitored against actual performance and customer response. Evidence was used to refine, continue or reject assumptions, giving management a repeatable market–cost–capacity basis for go/no-go decisions rather than relying on headline demand or instinct.

OUTCOME

ROOT FINDING

Customer demand could conceal weak contribution or impractical delivery when price, cost, capacity and operating requirements were considered separately.

RESPONSE

Commercial offers were evaluated through a connected model combining market appeal, unit economics, booking behaviour, system requirements and delivery capacity.

RESULT

Offer decisions became more evidence-based, with a clearer basis for launching, refining or rejecting promotions according to both commercial and operational performance.
